Advanced Visual Perception in Robotics

Perception is a key component of any robotic system. In fact, understanding the scene around a robot is the first step towards achieving autonomous intelligent behaviours. This special session aims to receive contributions describing robotic systems which anchor their visual perceptual capabilities on the use of computer vision techniques. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Scene Reconstruction and Understanding
  • Autonomous Surveillance
  • Object Tracking
  • Object Recognition
  • Visual Servoing
  • Multimodal Sensor Fusion
  • Visual SLAM
  • Bin Picking
  • Underwater Perception
  • Sensor Calibration

Submission procedure

Authors are invited to submit full papers showing original research contributions. The conference proceedings will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (Springer LNCS). Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the ICIAR 2016 submission system by February 29, 2016 March 7, 2016, selecting the special session topic in their submission. All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
