ICIAR 2017 will be held in Montreal, Canada. Montreal is the second largest city in Canada, and is one of Canada's most unique and lively cities. With its rich history and French culture, Montreal is a mixture of old and new.

ICIAR 2017 will be held at Polytechnique Montréal, which is one of Canada’s leading engineering schools. Polytechnique is located on the northern slope of Mount Royal, in the very heart of Montréal.

The conference will be held in the Claudette-MacKay-Lassonde and Pierre-Lassonde buildings.


Reaching the venue (specific directions)

Due to maintenance work at the Université de Montréal (U. de M.) metro station and on campus, We are providing these special directions.

By metro (subway)

  1. First, go to the U. de M. metro station (on the blue line)
  2. At U. de M. station, take the nearest exit after the turnstiles (on RHS)
  3. Outside, you must turn left and follow the path to the campus access road (Chemin de la Rampe)
  4. You can either walk up the hill using the pedestrian lane, or cross the road and take the shuttle bus. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes.
  5. At the top of the hill, the Lassonde building is to the left (see photo).
    (Shuttle bus: get off at the 1st stop, cross the road, turn left and follow the underpass to get to the building.)

By bus

  • The no. 51 bus line goes on boul. Édouard-Montpetit where the U. de M. campus is located.
  • Transfer to the 51 eastward from the 165 bus (Côte-des-Neiges), or to the 51 westward from the 80 bus (Ave. du Parc).
  • Get off the 51 bus on Édouard-Montpetit in front of the U. de M. metro station, then follow the above directions.
    (The no. 129 bus also goes near the campus from Place-des-Arts area downtown, but follows ch. Côte-Ste-Catherine rather than Édouard-Montpetit.)

By car

For those coming by car, there is visitor pay parking area inside the Lassonde building. You must first drive up to the top of the Chemin de la Rampe, do a U-turn, then the parking entrance is halfway down on the RHS.

NOTE: on Wednesday, there will be volunteers (wearing ICIAR t-shirts) outside the U. de M. metro station to help attendees find their way to the venue.
