ICIAR 2019 will be held in the E7 Building of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Waterloo. The Faculty of Engineering is the largest engineering school in Canada, and it is ranked among the top 50 engineering schools worldwide.

Travel information

For your convenience, we provide the following information to assist with travel planning. Attendees of the ICIAR 2019 can easily reach Waterloo by airplane, bus, train and car.

Flights

The closest international airport to the conference venue is Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Visitors may wish to drive from Toronto to Waterloo, which takes approximately an hour drive in light traffic. Another option is to arrange a shuttle service with Airways Transit that provides 24/7 door-to-door shared ride service.

Bus

Coach Canada and Greyhound are two popular options. Book your ticket at least two months before you plan to travel. Most companies limit the amount of luggage you can carry, so check with them ahead of time to ensure that your luggage falls within the limits.

Train

If you're located more than four hours away, consider taking the train to Waterloo. VIA Rail is Canada's passenger train network. Go Transit has limited train service to Waterloo from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Car

  1. Take exit 278 (from Toronto) to Highway 8 West Kitchener/Waterloo.
  2. Follow the signs for 85 North to Waterloo/7 East to Guelph.
  3. Follow the signs to 85 North. Keep left; do not exit on 7 East (Victoria Street and Guelph).
  4. Exit at University Avenue West.
  5. Drive along University Avenue to Seagram Drive.
  6. Turn left onto to Seagram Drive.
